The Boiling Frog – Which one are you?

Have you ever heard of the boiling frog?

This is a myth from the 19thcentury that says if you place a frog (1) in a pan of boiling water it will jump out of the pan straight away, but if you put a frog (2) in a pan of cold water and bring the pan to the boil, the frog will get used to the climate until it is too late.

When we experience aches and pains it’s our body’s way of telling us something bad may be happening to our bodies. We must acknowledge this as a sign our body is being damaged and act to heal this damage and help to stop it happening again.

This is all well and good, but how many of us do this?  We may take a simple pain killer to help with the pain to start with, but if the pain continues, how many of us seek medical advice? The fact is we probably don’t, the pain becomes a way of life and we just live with it. The pain may eventually intensify, influence our body in another way, so a trip to see a doctor is eventually needed. However, at this stage it may be too late to rectify the problem, so management is the only course of action.

Be like frog 1 and not frog 2. Get yourself checked. You still have loads of “Hopping” to do.
