Detailed Description

An intensive two day training course for those people who wish to become trainers in Object Handling.

  • Problems of back pain in industry
  • Structure and function of the spine
  • Causes of back pain
  • Recognise dangerous posture and explain dangers
  • Avoid dangerous postures at work
Risk Assessment
  • Management of Risk
  • The need to monitor and report incidents and accidents
  • Awareness of the need to avoid moving & handling in the workplace where possible
  • Identify the hazards in a moving & handling task
  • Undertake a moving & handling risk assessment
  • Design and implement a safe system of work
  • Prioritise risk and risk management measures
  • Devise a safe system of work
Ergonomics & Risk Reduction
  • The meaning and application of ergonomics to manual handling
  • Apply simple ergonomic principles to reduce the moving & handling risks of tasks
Completing Assessment Form
